What this scope actually covers
Most remodelers subcontract stone and hope for the best. We template, cut, polish and install our own, which is why we can promise where a seam will land before you pick a slab.
Template happens after cabinets are set and level, never before. We use a digital arm, photograph the slab with your layout mapped onto it, and send you the veining plan for approval so the dramatic movement lands on the island and not behind the fridge.
Edges are finished by hand on the polishing bench. An eased edge, a 3 cm mitered apron and a full waterfall all leave the same bay, so the sheen matches across the kitchen.

What is included
Slab walk
We meet you at the stone yard, tag the actual slabs, and note the bundle number so no one substitutes.
Digital template
Laser template of set cabinets, including wall out-of-plumb, so the backsplash gap stays tight.
Veining layout
A photo of your slab with cut lines overlaid and seam locations marked for written approval.
Cutting and polishing
CNC rough cut, then hand-polished edge profiles and hand-eased corners.
Sink and cooktop cutouts
Undermount sink reveal of your choice, cooktop cutouts to the manufacturer template, drilled faucet holes.
Install and seal
Set, seamed with color-matched epoxy, caulked and sealed, with a care sheet for the material you chose.
How it runs
The sequence
Each step has a named owner on our side and one decision on yours. Nothing starts until the previous step is signed off.

Material selection
Quartz, quartzite, granite, soapstone or porcelain, chosen against how you actually cook.

Template day
Two hours on site once the cabinets are level and the sink is on site.

Layout approval
You approve the seam and veining plan by email before the saw runs.

Fabrication week
Cut, edge, polish, dry fit on the bench and photograph before it leaves the shop.

Install day
Usually a single day for a standard kitchen, two if there is a waterfall or a full-height slab backsplash.

All questionsNo. We work with four Nashville stone yards and will meet you there to tag slabs. If you find material elsewhere, we can fabricate it as long as it arrives undamaged.
On islands up to about 10 feet, usually yes, if the slab is long enough. We confirm at the slab walk before you commit to the material.
Many quartzites are harder, but some soft ones etch like marble. We test a sample with lemon juice and tell you what you are actually buying.
Quartz needs soap and water. Natural stone gets sealed on install and typically resealed every one to three years depending on use. The care sheet lists the product we use.
